Women’s March 2017
Yesterday’s 2017 inauguration is a day that I will forever mourn. As a part of the LGBTQ community, as a friend of immigrants, as a woman, as a human, the election of Donald Trump to our highest level of office, to be the public face and representation of our country’s highest ideals, is cause for fear.
But today, I’m attempting to set aside those fears.
Today, I’m attempting to focus on another historical event…one that brings with it a cause for hope.
All over the world today, women are gathering to march in solidarity. We are marching for our rights and the rights of our countrymen. We are marching to cry out, in one voice, that He Will Not Divide Us. We are marching to tell the world that a country can’t dictate our bodies. We are marching to support our LGBTQ and POC friends and family. We are marching for hope.
